교명
교명 : School Name : Kyeong Myeong
본교의 건학이념은 경명(景明)에 집약되어 있고, 경명은 경행명오『景行明悟』에 연유한다.
경『景』은 고산앙지(高山仰止)며, 경행행지(景行行止)의 경을 뜻하는데, 고산앙지란 높고 큰 덕성을 숭상함이요, 경행행지란 대도를 바르게 행한다는 것이며,명『明』은 풍격준정( 風格峻整)에 복성명오(復性明悟)의 명으로서 단정한 모습과 고아한 인품을 이르는 풍격준정의 의미와 사리에 밝게 깨쳐 인간의 본성으로 돌아 가려는 복성명오의 이치를 지닌다.
그러므로 경명『景明』은 큰길을 밝게 깨치자는 것이며 홍익인간의 이념으로 전인류의 이상을 추구하는 참다운 정신을 내포한다.
『각(覺) 이면 관(觀) 하리라』 인간이 그 생각한 바 대도(大道)를 깨치면 모든 행위의 규범은 자명할 것이며, 우주에 생존하는 전인류가 질서있게 공존공영할 것이다.
이와같이 본교의 건학이념은 경명『景明』이므로 모든 학문과 기예의 근본이 되는 크고 밝은 진리를 바르게 깨쳐 천하만인에게 빛이 되는 인간을 교육하는데 근원을 두고 있다.
Kyeong Myeong's name is derived from 景明, meaning to see the bigger picture and to pursue the good in all humanity. This is done in devotion to the welfare of all mankind, 景行明悟.
Kyeong: This word comes from 高山仰止, 景行行止. 高山仰止 means to worship a greater goodness. 景行行止means to act righteously to pursue a vision.
Myeong: 風格峻整, 復姓明悟. 風格峻整 means tidy appearance and graceful personality.復姓明悟 means to realize how the universe works and to recover the innocence of human nature.
Therefore Kyeong Myeong means to see the bigger picture and to pursue the good in all humanity. This is done in devotion to the welfare of all mankind.
「If you concentrate on something deeply, you can know how it works.」If someone realizes the truth, they can know the normal balance of life. With this thinking, people can co-exist in this universe harmoniously.
Kyeong Myeong was built with the above ideology. Students should learn the deeper truths based on every knowledge and art in order to be a light of knowledge to the world.

교훈 : School Motto
『참』은 진(眞) ,성(誠)을 의미하는 것으로 진리를 탐구하여 나의 사명이 무엇인가를 깨달아 성실한 사람으로서의 참된 도리를 실천한다는 것이며 『아름답게』란 지(智)·덕(德)·체體의 합일, 곧 진(眞)·선(善)·미(美)의 조화를 이룬 고아한 인격을 뜻한다. 그러므로 본교의 교훈은 경명의 이념을 바탕으로 하여 현모양처(賢母良妻)의 자질을 함양하고 성실과 인내로 나라와 겨레에 기여하는 민주시민을 기르는데 목적을 둔다.
「참」 means genuineness. That is, to pursue the truth and realize your calling in order to act righteously. 「아름답게」means to have beauty in intelligence, personality, and health. Therefore, genuineness, kindness, and beauty are harmonized. So the school motto is based on the ideologies that the school was founded upon, that students become wise mothers and good wives with tolerance and diligence to raise strong children for the benefit of Korea's society.
